Biography

Pressure and resistance made him into a diamond

I work as the Civil Rights Coordinator for the Hudson Catskill Housing Coalition, Board secretary, and the Sinor Program Advisor for Bridge Tha Gap. I was also a Community Organizer for Vocal-NY, a statewide grassroots organization dedicated to ending mass incarceration, AIDS, homelessness, overdoses, and the war on drugs. Before this position, the Administrator Assistant for the City of Albany’s Summer Youth Employment Program and the Office Manager for the City of Albany’s Youth Opportunity Office. On top of that, I’ve worked as a Community Organizer for United Tenants of Albany, advocating for housing rights. I am an Ambassador for the FHI 360 Compass Rose Re-entry Program, a Member of the Young adult leadership council, and The New Deal For Youth Cohort. I also volunteer for several non-profit organizations in the Capital Region geared towards youth development and support. These include but are not limited to SNUG, Mission Accomplished, Citizen Action, The Center for Law and Justices, Tru Heart, Tinker & Fiddler, AlbanyCanCode, and Young Futures.

I work on ways to help develop and nurture future business owners through my Business 101: Business Fundamentals and Development sessions. My personal story inspires my passion for mentoring and reaching out to the youth. At 15 years old, I was present during an assault committed by older peers and ended up serving seven years in prison. I eventually won my appeal, which ultimately overturned the conviction. Through My redemption, I want to set an example for other young people and show them that they can make a positive impact in their communities. I have worked as a production assistant on the Ed Norton film “Motherless Brooklyn” and am an aspiring film writer. I am also the CEO of Over the Wall Connections and Turn A Page Publishing. I continue to provide freelance business consulting services and am involved in many campaigns leading justice/social reforms in all areas and recently made a failed attempt to run for Mayor of Albany.
